Alexander is a founding member and the Artistic Director of Avalanche Theatre.
Avalanche Theatre fosters the development of new plays and playwrights in Chicago, through a variety of programming including world premiere productions, the Next Draft Series, and Show & Tell.
Under his leadership, Avalanche Theatre has grown to be the creative home for an Ensemble of 28 theatre artists, staged 3 world premiere productions, developed 10 new plays through the Next Draft Series, and has worked with countless artists to give opportunities for Chicago's playwrights to develop their scripts.
World premieres produced by Avalanche Theatre include Time is a Color and the Color is Blue by Melanie Coffey and Outlaws by Cara Beth Heath.
Scripts developed in the Next Draft Series include Black Bear Island by Karissa Murrell Myers, They Broke Up by Skyler Tarnas, BATHSIT by Olivia Lindsay, Monkey by Shail Modi, How to Kill a Rodent by Eleanor McCaughey, body no organs by Dizzy Turek, Homunculus by Andrew Piechota, and others.
